The Holocaust Survivors’ Foundation issued a powerful rebuke in an open letter, accusing Jonathan Glazer of conflating the Holocaust with the Israel-Hamas conflict.
David Schecter, a 94-year-old Holocaust survivor and president of the foundation, wrote, “Your comments were factually inaccurate and morally indefensible. To use Auschwitz to criticize Israel is a disgraceful misuse of history.”
Schaecter’s emotional plea underscored the pain caused by Jonathan Glazer’s remarks, particularly among survivors who felt their trauma was being exploited for political commentary.
